Today was a day without commitments for the Capitulars, since they got back from Assisi around 12:30 a.m. the night before.
The Capitulars made an afternoon visit to the General Curia and participated Mass at in the 6:30 p.m., at the Basilica of the Twelve Holy Apostles in Rome. His Eminence, Cardinal Pietro PAROLIN, Vatican Secretary of State, presided.
In his homily, the cardinal affirmed that the gift of the Holy Spirit is above all the gift of joy. Joy helps us overcome the difficulty or fatigue we may face in any given situation. Planning for the future, the Capitulars are called to trust in the grace of God, to renew their missionary commitment and the joy of proclaiming the Gospel.
At the end of the celebration, the Minister General, Friar Carlos TROVARELLI, thanked the cardinal for his support of the Order. He also thanked the Capitulars and the friars of the General Houses in Rome who participated in this fraternal event.
The celebration continued in the cloister of the friary, with a buffet supper provided by the Guardian, Friar Francesco CELESTINO.
