On Tuesday, November 5, 2019, the Provincial Custody of St. Anthony of Padua in Ghana celebrated the 10th anniversary of the death of Friars Emilio GALLO and Peter KUUPINE.
The anniversary ceremony took place at the friars’ cemetery at the Franciscan Valley of Prayer and Silence in Saltpond, Ghana. The Vicar Custos, Friar Eugene ANTWI-BOASIAKO, presided. Others present at the ceremony included the Assistant General for African Federation of Conventual Franciscans (AFCOF), Friar Anthony Bezo KUTIERO; Friar Marino ALBANI from Italy; the Guardians and friars from various local friaries; and some religious and lay faithful.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Office of the Dead and the celebration of Mass. It concluded with the laying of wreaths at the tomb of our confreres.
