On January 27-31, 2025, the Province of the Immaculate Conception of the B.V.M. in Japan celebrated the second part of its 17th Ordinary Provincial Chapter. The event took place at the Immaculate Conception of the B.V.M. Friary in the Hongōchi neighborhood of Nagasaki, Japan.
The Chapter began with the celebration of a votive Mass to ask for the assistance of the Holy Spirit. The Minister Provincial, Friar Luke Shinichiroh TANIZAKI, presided. Also present was the Assistant General for the Federation of Asian Minor Conventuals (FAMC), Friar Giuseppe PARK. The Capitulars discussed and approved the Jurisdiction’s priorities for the next four years as well as other items placed on the agenda. The new Guardians and formation officers were also elected. Finally, guidelines for the new four-year term were defined in the Provincial Four-Year Plan.
The Chapter concluded with the commemoration of nine friars who died during the last four years.
