On September 4, 2024, Friar Michael LASKY, the General Delegate for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC), offered a ninety-minute reflection on “Franciscanism and JPIC” to the Capuchin General Chapter. The event took place at the San Lorenzo da Brindisi International College in Rome.
The question and answers session that followed revealed a universal desire among the friars to better engage the social doctrine of the Church for the sake of mission, in a manner that is firmly supported by prayer and our Franciscan spirituality. The friars then moved on to small group discussions where they worked to strategize how they might best cultivate a culture of JPIC within their Jurisdictions.
