On April 29, 2022, the friar students of canon law residing in Rome met with the members of the General Procuration Office. The meeting took place at the General Curia of the Conventual Franciscan Order, located at the Friary of the Twelve Holy Apostles in Rome.

The participants began by getting to know each other. They focused on the plan and direction of their studies, their reasons for studying canon law, their personal prospects and those of their home Jurisdictions. Friar Robert LEŻOHUPSKI, who works at the Apostolic Penitentiary, described the services he carries out. Friar Francesco PANIZZOLO, who works at the Disciplinary Section of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, explained his services as well. Friar Maurizio DI Paolo, the Procurator General, gave a detailed explanation of the duties and activities of the General Procuration Office. He described the procedures that are followed for the Vatican Dicasteries, as well as those for individual Jurisdictions. He emphasized that canon law and canon lawyers are at the service of the Order. Training in this area should prepare one to perform concrete procedures: consultations, investigations, the drafting of decrees, rescripts, etc.
The meeting ended with the recitation of Evening Prayer and a fraternal dinner.
