On Wednesday, May 3, 2023, the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in India conducted a class about the Rule of 1223. The Province offered the class as part of its continuing formation course and in celebration of the 800th anniversary of the Rule of 1223.
The well-known Franciscan scholar, Friar Gerry LOBO, OFM, taught the class. His lecture was inspiring to the friars because he showed them the value of the Rule of 1223 in the present-day context of our Franciscan way of life.
The class took place at the Assisi Shanthi Kendra Friary, the seat of the Provincial Curia, in Karukutty, State of Kerala. Those participating included all of the friar priests, students and novices of the Province of India.
