2021-2022 Novitiate Year
At 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, 2021, the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in India began its 2021-2022 novitiate year with twelve novices. The novitiate is located at the Assisi Shanthi Kendra in Karukutty, India.
The new novice confreres are: Chintu PRADHAN, Sisira Kumar BEERO, Simon KERKETTA, Samuel MINZ, Nithin VALIYATHOTTIYIL, Mathews THADATHIL, Gopinath NAYAK, Mukesh PARICHA, Naveen VELUTHEPPILLY, Sahid NAYAK, Jackson VATHUKADAN and Rejish NAYAK. The Minister Provincial, Friar Bonaventure KALLUVETTUKUZHIYIL presided over the opening Mass. The Novice Master, Friar Damian VELIYIL, and the Guardian at the Assisi Shanthi Kendra, Friar Stephen OLLETHAZHATHU, concelebrated. During the ceremony the new novices were entrusted to the care of their novice master.

Solemn Profession and First Profession
At 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2021, two student friars of the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in India, Friar Sonu KACHAPPILLY and Friar Shibin PAYYAMPALLIL, made their solemn profession.
In addition, four novices of the Province made their first profession, namely, Friars Jojomon ELAVUMKAL, Subin PEYKUZHIYIL, Joyal VALLOMPRAYIL and Martin MLAKKUZHIYIL. The Minister Provincial, Friar Bonaventure KALLUVETTUKUZHIYL, received the friars’ profession during Mass at the Kolbe Franciscan Ashram [friary] in Aluva, India. The witnesses for the professions were: the Vicar Provincial, Friar Antony NALLUKENNEL and the Guardian and Rector of the Kolbe Franciscan Ashram, Friar Paul POTHANATTUVELIYIL. Friar Paul also gave the homily.
