On Saturday, August 3, Friar Prince ILLINILKUMTHADATHIL, OFM Conv., was ordained to the priesthood by the Most Reverend George NJARALAKATT, Archbishop of Tellicherry, India. The ordination took place at Friar Prince’s home parish of St. Joseph’s Church in Varakkad.
Finally, on Monday, August 12, Friar Senet KANJIRAPARAMBIL was ordained to the priesthood by the Most Reverend Jose PUTHENVEETTIL, Auxiliary Bishop of Ernakulam-Angamaly. The ordination took place at Friar Senet’s home parish of St. Joseph’s Church in Mambra.
After celebrating their first Masses, the friars thanked everyone who, in one way or another, helped them stand upon the altar of the Lord. Friar Senet prayed in particular for the victims of the Sri Lankan terror attack. Then, all of the faithful had an opportunity to greet the new priests and receive a blessing by kissing their anointed hands. The festivities concluded with an agape meal.
