Each year, on July 14, the simply professed friars of the Province of Mary Immaculate in Indonesia renew their vows.
This year, thirty-two friars renewed their vows during ceremonies at three different communities. At the Santo Josef Friary in Delitua, seven friars renewed their vows before the Provincial Secretary, Friar Titus LIMNGARDI. At the Santo Bonaventura Post-Novitiate in Pematangsiantar, twenty-three friars renewed their vows before the Minister Provincial, Friar Cornelius Tri Chandra FAJARIYANTO. At the Hati Kudus Yesus Filial House in Sukoharjo, Lampung Province, two friars renewed their vows before the Delegate, Friar Eligeus B. BERNARDI.
On June 26-30, 2023, before renewing their vows, the friars took part in a spiritual retreat at the Convent of the Franciscan Sisters of Santa Lusia, in the sub-district of Bane Pematangsiantar. The retreat was led by Friar Eriksend O. SITEPU, who invited the young friars to remember the spirit and charism that St. Francis of Assisi spread to renew the Church of his day. Today, the Conventual Franciscans are called to do the same in every event of their daily lives, especially during initial formation. After the retreat, the friars took part in the Living in Community Doing Service and Work program, where carried out work and provided service, with the aim of learning more about the pastoral services of the Province and the authentic witness of the fraternities. May the friars have a good service experience.
