On June 18, 2023, during the Sunday Mass, the relics of the Blessed Martyrs Zbigniew STRZAŁKOWSKI and Michał TOMASZEK, both friars from Poland, were solemnly delivered to the Heilige Dreifaltigkeit [Holy Trinity] Friary and Church, and its Italian community, located in the Alservorstadt Municipality of Vienna, Austria. The delivery was ordered by the official decree of Friar Marian GOŁĄB, the Minister Provincial of the Province of St. Anthony and Bl. James of Strepar in Poland (Cracow).
During his homily, Friar Dariusz GACZYŃSKI, spoke about the determination of the two friars and their martyrdom. On January 19, 1988, Blessed Zbigniew celebrated Mass at this church in Vienna, also known as the “Alserkirche,” before he embarked on his missionary journey to Peru. His signature can be read in the church’s guest book for Masses. “This friary and church in Vienna is the first place in Austria to have solemnly received the relics,” said Friar Jan HRUSZOWIEC, the Promoter for the Cult of the Blessed Martyrs, and for the veneration of their relics. The relics have now been enshrined in Vienna and the local people may rely upon the intercession of the two Blessed Martyrs, who have been declared patrons against terrorism, to guide and protect their lives and deepen and strengthen their faith.
