On Monday, November 13, 2023, Friar Germano TOGNETTI, the General Delegate for the Second Order and Affiliated Institutions, visited the Poor Clare Monastery in Montepaolo, Italy.

Friar Germano’s visit was a very welcome surprise! After more than a year, he returned to Montepaolo (accompanied by Mrs. Maria TERESA), and briefly visited with the sisters. At the same time, he inspected the status of the hermitage following the earthquake of September 18, 2023. The church-sanctuary of Sant’Antonio was unfortunately damaged and will require extensive restoration work. Liturgical celebrations, however, continue in the chapel inside the monastery, where the faithful can also have access.
Friar Germano then updated the sisters on his new role as the Guardian of the Friary of St. Anthony at the Baths (“La Vigna”) in Rome. The friary houses confreres from all around the world including student friars attending various universities in Rome.
Friar Germano’s visit was an afternoon of joyful fraternity. We thank the Lord very much for this!
