On March 13-15, 2023, the friars of the Province of the Seraphic Father St. Francis in Italy (Naples) celebrated an Extraordinary Chapter. The event took place at the facility of the Society of Divine Vocations (Vocationists) in Pianura (Naples).

Those attending the Chapter included the friars of the Province; the Assistant General for the Federazione Inter-mediterranea Ministri Provinciali (FIMP), Friar Giovanni VOLTAN; and the Procurator General, Friar Maurizio DI PAOLO.
Father Luca BASSO, OFS, of the Diocese of Salerno, Italy, began the Chapter proceedings with a spiritual introduction. His reflection was on the theme: “Redefining Who We Are, Starting with the Fraternal and Welcoming Lifestyle in Our Communities.”
During the first part of the Chapter, the friars worked on revising and approving the Provincial Statutes, which had been previously revised by a particular commission. The revised Statutes were then discussed and voted upon during the Chapter assembly. During the second part of the Chapter, the friars took up the sensitive issue of redefining the presences of the Province, continuing along the path set before them by earlier fraternal Assemblies. After the Minister Provincial, Friar Cosimo ANTONINO, presented the Instrumentum laboris of the Chapter, the friars formed working groups and discussed what was needed to redefine the presences of the Province. The results of their fraternal discussion were entrusted to the Minister Provincial and his Definitory for their consideration.
The Chapter was conducted in an entirely serene and fraternal atmosphere.
