On February 3-8, February 10-15 and February 17-22, 2025, a series of retreats for children was hosted at the friary in Niepokalanów Lasek, Poland. The friary is a presence of the Province of the Immaculate Mother of God in Poland (Warsaw). The theme of the retreat series was, “What Is Most Important Is Invisible to Your Eyes.”
February is a very joyful time in Niepokalanów Lasek. Why? Throughout the month the retreat center is filled with lots of kids. This year, about three hundred children came from all over Poland to spend the winter holidays, deepen their relationship with Jesus and His Mother and befriend the angels. It was a time of prayer, fun, and mutual bonding.
Each day the children attended Mass, where the retreat leader, Friar Grzegorz M. ŚWIERKOSZ, spoke about three important truths in everyone’s life: the glorious Church, the pilgrim Church and the suffering Church.
Each day, the children attended meetings where they would be divided into smaller groups. Each group was led by an animator based on prepared outlines. Each evening, everyone gathered in the chapel for Evening Prayer and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, led by Friar Sylwester GĄGLEWSKI.
The final day concluded with Mass, attended by parents as well, and the children willingly entrusted themselves to the Mother of God in the Militia of the Immaculata.
The retreat in Niepokalanów Lasek is always a beautiful time. The children look forward to the next one.
