On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, Friar Theofil CIUCHEȘ of the Province of St. Joseph, Spouse of the B.V.M. in Romania received the degree of Doctor of Theology and Patristic Sciences from the Augustinianum Patristic Institute in Rome.
Friar Teofil brilliantly defended his dissertation entitled, “Conformation to Christ. Theological-Spiritual Rereading of the Christological Titles, Starting with Gregory of Nyssa’s De Perfectione.” This achievement was cause for joy for the entire Seraphicum community in Rome, of which he is a member. The friars there held a celebration for him in the friary at the end of supper.
In complimenting Friar Teofil, let us paraphrase St. Francis’ Letter to Brother Anthony of Padua to express our hope that our confrere will put this demanding journey of study to good use, both in academia and in fraternal life, without ever extinguishing the spirit of prayer and devotion.
