On Wednesday and Thursday, May 19-20, 2021, the confreres of the Province of St. Bernardine and St. Angelo in Italy (Abruzzo-Molise) met in the Sant’Antonio Friary in Pescara, Italy, in order to finally spend some time together after the forced separation imposed by the pandemic. They participated in two days of ongoing formation, under the able guidance of Friars Giulio CESAREO and Enzo GALLI.

The first day began at 5:15 p.m., with lectures by Friar Giulio and Friar Enzo on the theme of fraternity and reconciliation. Next there was a period of personal meditation followed by communal Eucharistic Adoration. The next day, however, after praying the Liturgy of the Hours together, the friars gathered at 10:00 a.m. for a second lecture, which more deeply explored the same theme. It included direct commentary on Scripture and the writings of St. Francis of Assisi. After a suitable time of discussion and debate, the Minister Provincial, Friar Mauro M. DE FILIPPIS DELFICO, gave an update on the latest events in our religious family. Afterwards, the participants gathered in the parish church, to celebrate Mass together. The formation event concluded with lunch. As always, it was a joyful and festive event. The community also took the opportunity to mention the 80th birthday of Friar Massimiliano BACCILE, which falls exactly on May 24, 2021.
