For the past ten years, friars from the Province of St. Anthony and Bl. James of Strepar in Poland (Cracow) have been offering psychotherapeutic assistance with the help of various religious and lay specialists working at two different offices.
On Monday, January 30, 2023, the psychotherapy staff met at the Provincial Curia in Cracow to attend a thanksgiving event organized by the Brother Sun Foundation.
The event began with Mass presided over by Friar Piotr HRECIŃSKI. Friar Piotr is a psychologist, a psychodynamic psychotherapist and a sociotherapist. Friar Mariusz KOZIOŁ, the Vicar Provincial, and a psychologist as well, gave the homily. Also participating was Friar Piotr STANISŁAWCZYK, a psychologist, psychotherapist, and the initiator of the project. He now serves the Order as the Secretary General for Formation. Currently, the psychotherapeutic assistance program is aimed at people experiencing various pathologies, such as mood disorders, relationship difficulties, dissatisfaction with their daily lives, those requiring support during long-term drug treatment, those with substance addiction, behavioral issues, and those with addictions to gambling or pornography.
