On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, Pope Francis appointed our confrere, Friar Piotr Tomasz KLESZCZ, Auxiliary Bishop of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Łódź, Poland, assigning him the Titular See of Aquae Albae in Byzacena.
Friar Piotr was born on June 8, 1967, in Łódź. He professed his solemn vows with the Order of Friars Minor Conventual in the Province of the Immaculate Mother of God in Poland (Warsaw) on October 4, 1991, in Łódź-Łagiewniki, Poland. He was ordained to the priesthood on May 29, 1993, in Łódź-Łagiewniki. The same year, he obtained a master’s degree in theology from the Academy of Catholic Theology in Warsaw. From 1993 to 1995 he served as the Vicar of the Parish of St. Anthony and St. John the Baptist in Łódź-Łagiewniki and from 1995 to 1996, the Vicar of the Parish of Our Lady of the Angels in Łódź. From 1996 to 1997 he was the Vicar of the Parish of Our Lady of Częstochowa in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. In 1997 he returned to the Parish of Our Lady of the Angels in Łódź, and since June of 2016, has been the Pastor and the Guardian of the religious community there.
In 1997, he founded the children’s ensemble, “The Little Choir of Big Hearts.” He also composes the music and lyrics of the songs the choir performs. Since 2020, he has been involved in evangelization via the Internet, recording daily commentaries on the Liturgy of the Word.
