On March 7, 2020, the Conventual Franciscan clerical students from the seminary in Łódź Łagiewniki, Poland, won a gold medal at the 11th Basketball Championship between the Major Seminaries of Poland.
This year’s tournament was hosted and organized by the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Poland (Gdansk) and the Immaculate Mother of God in Poland (Warsaw). Five seminaries from all over Poland took part in the finals.
Before the matches began, the participants met in the seminary chapel for a Mass presided over by Friar Wiesław PYZIO, the Minister Provincial of Warsaw.
Among the spectators were young people from the orphanages and social centers where we carry out pastoral ministry.
In the final match, the clerical students from Łagiewniki beat those from the Major Seminary in Białystok. Our star player was Friar Maksymilian KONIECZNY.
