On August 7–9, 2026, the National Center of the Militia of the Immaculata (M.I.) in the United States held its National Elective Assembly. The event took place at Ave Maria University in Ave Maria, Florida, USA.
M.I. representatives from around the country attended, along with several members of the outgoing National Council and the National Assistant, Friar Thomas John CZECK. The Elective Assembly was presided over by the M.I. International President, Miquel Bordas PRÓSZYŃSKI. Others attending included Friar Gilson Miguel NUNES, Delegate of the International Assistant; Friar Paul LANGEVIN, Minister Provincial of the Province of St. Bonaventure in the USA; Anna BRIZZI, Superior of the Father Kolbe Missionaries of the Immaculata (FKMI) in the United States; and Antonella DI PIAZZA, FKMI, National Coordinator and Director of the M.I. National Center in the USA.
On Friday, August 7, the participants gathered at noon to celebrate Mass at the parish church in Ave Maria. After Mass and lunch, they visited the museum dedicated to Mother Teresa of Calcutta, located on the university campus, which also houses the national office of the M.I. in the USA. The Elective Assembly then officially opened with an invocation of the Holy Spirit. During the first session, the participants presented and approved the report of the outgoing National President, Ronald L. RODRIGUES, as well as the financial report, presented by the Treasurer and accompanied by the Auditor’s assessment. The participants then reviewed and discussed the reports.
On Saturday, August 8, the day began with Mass at the Chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe, presided over by Friar Thomas CZECK.
After breakfast, the International President presented several proposals and recommendations to the Elective Assembly. The participants then elected the new M.I. National Presidential Council and the Auditors for the next four-year term.
The new members of the M.I. National Presidential Council are Brian SCARNECCHIA, President; Roy SAMSON, Vice President; Emma HEGARTY, Secretary; and Nick DIGIOVANNI, Friar Chris GARCIA, and Joshua MAZRIN, Councilors. The Auditors are Michelle BAUER, Brian COVEY, and Nan ROSS.
After the elections, the Delegates discussed proposals and suggestions for the coming years.
On Sunday, August 9, the Elective Assembly concluded with Mass at the Ave Maria Parish Church, a report on the findings of the Assembly, and the blessing and commissioning of the new Council.
Throughout this time of fraternity and prayer, the M.I. members renewed their consecration to the Immaculata, entrusting to her Immaculate Heart St. Maximilian Kolbe’s dream for the M.I. in the United States. With renewed dedication, they expressed their desire to continue bringing the world to the Heart of Jesus through the Virgin Mary.
