On January 12-17, 2026, the friary in Niepokalanów Lasek, a presence of the Province of the Immaculate Mother of God in Poland (Warsaw), hosted a retreat for people suffering from cancer. The main theme was: “God Is Our Only Hope: ‘Pour Out Your Hearts to God Our Refuge’” (Ps 62:9).
The retreat was led by Friar Mirosław M. ADASZKIEWICZ and was attended by fifteen people. During the retreat, the participants listened to reflections on faith, hope, and love, as well as on how to walk life’s path with Mary. The program included common prayer, Mass, the Rosary, and meditation on the Stations of the Cross. There was also the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of the Sick. The participants were also able to consult a doctor. They were visited by Dr. Jolanta KLESZCZEWSKA, who also gave a lecture on healthy eating.
There was much joy as the participants sang Christmas carols, took walks, ate meals, and discussed their experiences over coffee, tea, and pastries. All of the participants remembered the recently deceased Friar Stanisław PIĘTKA and prayed together at his grave, entrusting his soul to God’s mercy.
