From July 27 to August 5, 2020, the 24th Ordinary Provincial Chapter of the Province of the Immaculate Mother of God in Poland (Warsaw) took place at the Conventual Franciscan Major Seminary in Łódź-Łagiewniki, Poland.

The Minister General, Friar Carlos TROVARELLI, was present throughout the Chapter. The motto of the Chapter was “Rooted in Christ and Built upon Him.”
The Chapter was attended by fifty Capitulars from friaries within the Warsaw Province and others located abroad. Guests present included the Most Reverend Grzegorz RYŚ, Metropolitan Bishop of Łódź, Poland, and the Most Reverend Marian Błażej KRUSZYŁOWICZ, OFM Conv., Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Szczecin-Kamień, Poland.
The first days of the Chapter were dedicated to evaluating the life and activities of the Province over the past four years. The Capitulars listened to reports from the Minister Provincial, Friar Wiesław PYZIO, the Provincial Econom, Friar Wiesław CHABROS and other friars who head the Provincial Delegations and works of the Province.
After a presentation on the status of the Province, the friars divided into working groups to begin discussion. The aim was to indicate the issues that the Capitulars will need to address in the second part of the Chapter.
In March of this year, the solemnly professed friars had elected the Minister Provincial, Friar Grzegorz BARTOSIK, by letter. During this first part of the Chapter, the new Minister Provincial took his oath of office and made his profession of faith into the hands of the Minister General. Next, the Capitulars offered their obedience to the Minister Provincial.
During the Chapter Assembly, the members of the Provincial Definitory were elected as well. They are: Friars Mirosław BARTOS (Vicar Provincial), Zbigniew KOPEĆ (Provincial Secretary), Damian KARCZMAR (Provincial Econom), and Marek WÓDKA, Friar Piotr ŻURKIEWICZ and Friar Piotr MELDIZON, (Provincial Definitors). In addition, five Delegates were elected to attend the next General Chapter.
Due to the pandemic, the second part of the Chapter was celebrated right after the first. At that time, the Guardians of the friaries and the heads of formation were elected.
