On May 20, 2026, the first meeting of the Delegation in Sweden of the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Poland (Gdańsk) was held in Jönköping, Sweden.
The meeting was attended by the Minister Provincial of Gdańsk, Friar Wojciech KULIG, and all the friars of the Delegation. The Delegation was established on March 19, 2025, the feast of St. Joseph, Spouse of the B.V.M. During the meeting, the friars discussed current issues relating to the functioning of the Delegation. They also prepared a draft of the Delegation Statutes, which will be submitted to the Provincial Definitory for approval ad experimentum.
The time spent together was an excellent opportunity for prayer and fraternal encounter. The friars celebrated Mass, recited Evening Prayer, and then visited the nearby town of Hjo. They also visited the preserved remains of the foundations of the ancient Franciscan friary and church in Jönköping, which were established in 1283. The previous day, the Minister Provincial met with two candidates interested in beginning their formation in the Order.
