On September 6-7, 2025, the Province of St. Francis in Brazil hosted its annual “Aldeia Franciscana” [Franciscan Village] workshop for training young leaders. The event took place at the Nosso Senhor do Bonfim Friary in Santo André, São Paulo State, Brazil.
The workshop brought together nineteen young people from various parishes in São Paulo and focused on “Eclesiology.” It addressed the origins, biblical dimension, historical aspects, and role of the Church in the world, in light of the Second Vatican Council and the document Lumen Gentium. Friar Alexandre PATUCCI DE LIMA led the reflections.
In addition to the training sessions, the program included prayer with a relic of St. Carlos Acutis, the celebration of Mass, periods of fraternity, the screening of a thematic film, a visit to the Santuário do Senhor do Bonfim exhibition and a meeting with the Minister Provincial, Friar José Hugo da Silva SANTOS.
The Aldeia Franciscana workshop continues to provide experience, formation, and communion. Moreover, it strengthens young people’s commitment to their communities.
