From May 30 to June 2, 2022, a conference for the Ministers Provincial, Custodes, Formators and Youth and Vocation Ministers of the Federazione Inter-mediterranea Ministri Provinciali (FIMP) took place at the Seraphicum College in Rome.
The theme chosen by the FIMP Formation Commission for this event was “Fraternity Grows in Love: Towards an Integration of Affectivity and Sexuality.”
Professor Claudia CIOTTI gave the keynote lecture on the topic: “Affectivity and Sexuality in the Formative Stages.” More than forty friars participated in the conference, in various capacities, according to the offices they hold. After the lecture, they continued to study the topic in small groups and, again, as a full assembly.
Friar Maximilianus SEMBIRING, Vice-Secretary of the General Secretariat for Formation (SGF) gave a lecture during the meeting, entitled, “Franciscan Formation in the Light of the New Franciscan Discipleship.”
The last part of each day was entirely devoted to common discernment on reforming the formation houses in the Federation.
Before concluding the meeting, the FIMP Steering Committee expressed its hope that this conference, which covers such important topics and is so important to the friars who participate in it, will be convened more often than its current schedule of once every four years.
