Friday, September 25, 2020, marked the beginning of the academic year for the three-year graphology course being offered by the “Seraphicum Department of Graphology” in Rome.

The Pontifical Theological Faculty of St. Bonaventure has placed the fascinating discipline of graphology on the curriculum with the goal of offering greater understanding of the human person. The course will follow the teaching of Friar Girolamo MORETTI, OFM Conv., a great scholar and the father of Italian graphology.
The course will take place both in person and online. The inaugural event for this course was held in compliance with anti-Covid regulations, in the presence of the teachers and students who responded enthusiastically to the formation project. The course is aimed at fostering greater knowledge of oneself and others through handwriting analysis. This discipline can be applied in a variety of work areas such as graphological personality analysis, human resources, the judiciary, the criminological and medical sectors, childhood development, and the pastoral and vocational fields.

During the inauguration, our confrere Friar Raffaele DI MURO, the Graphology Department Chair, explained the structure of the course and the specializations available during the third year of study. He was supported by other Professors including Professors Alessandra MILLEVOLTE and Vincenzo TARANTINO who took part in presenting the new Department. The formation course has been given extra prestige by the recent news that the Italian Graphological Association has recognized and accredited the Seraphicum Department of Graphology.
Friar Raffaele addressed a speech to the students present in the Sisto V Auditorium and others online. He expressed his satisfaction over the excellent climate between the teachers and students. “All of you,” he said, “have already shown during your interviews that you feel you are in a family environment and that you contribute to make it so. You are not numbers to us, you are an enriching presence. It is our aim to continue in an atmosphere of mutual exchange, an atmosphere in which we will provide you with ideas and experience and you will help us to always give our best.
Friar Raffaele then gave special thanks to the Minister General, Friar Carlos TROVARELLI, for his having wanted to see this important educational discipline rehabilitated, a discipline to which our confrere Friar Girolamo MORETTI devoted fifty years of study and teaching.
In addition there will be a national study conference dedicated to Friar Girolamo, entitled, “Humanity and Writing: The Graphology of Girolamo Moretti”. The conference is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, (from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) at the Seraphicum Auditorium (Via del Serafico, 1, Rome). This is a free educational event with certification. It will be live-streamed.
