On September 7, 2025, with profound joy and gratitude to God, the Provincial Custody of St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe in Tanzania celebrated the official inauguration of the St. Francis Antony Fasani Postulancy Formation House, located in the Diocese of Morogoro, Tanzania. This milestone marks a significant advancement in the Custody’s mission to guide and form young men who are discerning a vocation to the Conventual Franciscan way of life.
The celebration was graced by the solemn profession of Friar Ludan Valerian SHAYO, who made his final vows during a deeply moving liturgical ceremony. The Custos, Friar Denis Dominick KUNAMBI, received his vows. Others present included members of the clergy, family members, and the faithful who gathered to witness this sacred and joyful occasion. Friar Ludan’s commitment gives radiant testimony to the Franciscan charism and the call to live the Gospel in fraternity, humility, and service.
Adding to the joy of the day, seventeen new postulants were officially welcomed into the postulancy program. Together with the six second-year postulants, the formation house now hosts a vibrant community of twenty-three postulants―young men embarking on a transformative journey of prayer, discernment and communal living, inspired by the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi and the legacy of St. Maximilian Kolbe.
