During the 2017-2018 academic year, the San Francisco de Asís College in Valladolid, Spain, had been celebrating its Golden Jubilee (the fiftieth anniversary of its founding). It was a wonderful opportunity to thank God for his many blessings over the years.
During the year, many activities took place to celebrate the Jubilee: the inaugural event on October 4, 2017, a “Bookmarks” competition, the alumni’s meeting on April 14, the composition of a hymn, etc.
During May 18-20, 2018, the central events of the Golden Jubilee were held. There was a tribute in honor of the “grandparents” of the College, a musical concert of thanksgiving in the parish and the solemn Mass of Pentecost celebrated in the courtyard of the College and presided-over by the Minister General, Friar Marco TASCA. It was an honor to have him visit on this very special day. He was joined by a large group of friars from Italy and the rest of the communities of the Province of Our Lady of Montserrat in Spain, headed by the Minister Provincial, Friar Ángel Mariano GUZMÁN LUDEÑA.
The friars could not help but feel grateful to God for the gift of having St. Francis of Assisi and his wonderful charism in their lives.
