On Saturday, November 16, 2019, Friar Ramón Alfredo RUI UREÑA was ordained to the priesthood by the laying on of hands and the consecratory prayer of the Most Reverend Mario del Valle MORONTA RODRÍGUEZ, Bishop of the Diocese of San Cristóbal in Venezuela. The ordination took place in the same diocese, at the Church of San Agatón, in Palmira.

Those participating in the ceremony included many faithful from the parish and other parishes around the country; the friars of the Provincial Custody of Our Lady of Coromoto in Venezuela; and about twenty-five concelebrating priests. Friar Juan Gregorio MARTÍNEZ CANELÓN served as master of ceremonies with the collaboration of Friar José Fernando PAREDES RIVERA. Friars in formation from the Friary of San José de Cupertino in Palmira provided liturgical service and animated the celebration with singing, which made for a particularly joyful celebration.
The next morning, November 17, the new priest presided over his first Mass at the Friary and Formation House of San José de Cupertino, together with the Provincial Custos, Friar Franklin Antonio DURÁN ZAMBRANO, several concelebrants and numerous faithful.
This was a time full of grace and God’s blessing for the Custody. We ask the Supreme and Eternal Priest, Jesus Christ, to abundantly pour out his Holy Spirit upon Friar Ramón, and the whole Order, so that with His grace He may sanctify the lives and vocations of all the friars.

Friar Juan Gregorio MARTÍNEZ CANELÓN, Custodial Secretary
