On Sunday evening, October 16, 2022, Friar Jacek PINKOSZ, from the Mother Province of the Immaculate Mother of God in Poland (Warsaw) was solemnly inaugurated as the new Pastor of the San Biagio Parish Church and Guardian of the San Bernardino Friary in Amantea, Italy.

The Most Reverend Giuseppe PIEMONTESE, Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Cosenza-Bisignano, Italy, presided over the Mass. The Vicar Provincial of the Province of Warsaw, Friar Mirosław BARTOS, concelebrated, together with some local pastors and religious. Those present included the representatives of several city associations, and numerous parishioners and guests. During the Mass, Bishop PIEMONTESE expressed his joy and his confidence that the newly arrived friars would continue to carry out their pastoral and Franciscan work in Amantea in an excellent way. Up until the beginning of the summer of 2022 this work had been performed by friars from the Provincial Custody of St. Daniel and Companion Martyrs in Italy (Calabria). May the friars from the Warsaw Province, who are replacing the friars from the Custody of Calabria, have a fruitful experience as they provide pastoral service to this portion of God’s flock entrusted to our Conventual Franciscan Order.
