On November 13-16, 2023, the “Rioplatense” Province of St. Anthony of Padua in Argentina-Uruguay conducted the second part of its tenth Ordinary Provincial Chapter. The event took place at the El Cenáculo Retreat Center in Pilar, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Minister Provincial, Friar Javier FONTANA (second term) presided over the Chapter, accompanied by the Assistant General for the Federación América Latina Conventuales (FALC), Friar Rogério PEREIRA XAVIER. The Chapter approved the 2023-27 Four-Year Provincial Plan “Conforming Ourselves to the Gospel in Order to be a Fraternity,” which will guide the journey of the Province over the next four years. The Guardians of each of the six friars of the Province were also elected, as well as the Provincial Econom, the Provincial Exactor, and the Director of the formation program for aspirants.
The Chapter provided a good opportunity for the friars to pray together and fraternally discuss and discern. It helped them imagine the future of the Jurisdiction, starting with the daily reality that the friars live, using the human and charismatic resources that are available. With a grateful and hopeful heart, the Province continues its journey, trusting in the gift of Friar Francis and in the mercy of the Father.
