Due to the number of candidates, the Province of St. Jerome in Croatia sent three of its novices to the Sacred Convent of Assisi and three to the Basilica of St. Anthony in Padua.
In Assisi, the year of probation began on Saturday, August 5, 2023. In Padua, it began on Friday, September 8, 2023, the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In addition to the novices from Croatia, there are also novices from Italy, Malta, Portugal and Ecuador. They number sixteen in total. There are nine in Assisi and seven in Padua.
In Assisi, the vesting ceremony was by presided over by the General Custos of the Sacred Convent, Friar Marco MORONI. The novices from Croatia in Assisi are Adrijan MARUŠIĆ, Jerko ŠUPERBA and Luka TETEC. They were accompanied by the Rector of Postulants, Friar Josip PETONJIĆ, and by Friar Vilček NOVAČKI.
In Padua, the ceremony was presided over by the Minister Provincial of the Italian Province of St. Anthony of Padua (Northern Italy), Friar Roberto BRANDINELLI. The novices from Croatia in Padua are Blaž ŽAGAČ, Andrija ĆORLUKA and Marko LAŠTRO. They were accompanied by the Minister Provincial of Croatia, Friar Miljenko HONTIĆ and by the Rector of Postnovices, Friar Stjepan BRČINA.
May we be mindful of these brothers during their formation journey and let us invoke the blessing of God the Father upon them.
