On January 10, 2024, as requested by Pope Francis and the Roman Curia, the General Custody of the Sacred Convent of St. Francis in Italy (Assisi) conducted a continuing formation meeting for the friars on the theme of abuse, namely sexual abuse, the abuse of conscience and the abuse of power, particularly as they relate to minors and vulnerable people.
Friar Francesco PANIZZOLO, OFM Conv., a member of the Italian Province of St. Anthony of Padua (Northern Italy) gave a lecture to the community. Afterwards, he answered any questions that had arisen from his lecture. Friar Francesco is a professor of canon law and for some years has been working at the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith where he is currently the head of its juridical section.
