On July 5, 2022, the Provincial Custody of St. Leopold and St. Nicolas of Flüe in Austria-Switzerland conducted an Extraordinary Custodial Chapter. The event took place at the Heilige Dreifaltigkeit Friary in Vienna, Austria.
The main purpose of the Chapter was to discuss some questions concerning the future of the Maria Hilf Friary in Graz, Austria. For some years now, negotiations have been underway with the Diocese of Graz-Seckau to rent out the premises of the friary. Since these decisions will have a long-term financial effect and since they concern the stable patrimony of the Jurisdiction, the approval of the Custodial Chapter is required.
Friar Andreas MURK, the Minister Provincial of the Mother Province of St. Elizabeth in Germany, presided over the Chapter and presented the project. Friar Igor SALMIČ, the Assistant General for the Centralis Europae Foederatio (CEF), represented the General Curia. The Procurator General, Friar Maurizio DI PAOLO, was invited to help settle some legal questions.
The Chapter voted and mandated the government of the Custody and Province to continue negotiations.
