The Provincial Custody of St. Francis in Bolivia recently celebrated the diaconal ordination of one of its friars and the solemn profession of another.

On October 1, 2019, the Most Reverend Carlos Enrique CURIEL HERRERA, Auxiliary Bishop of Cochabamba, Bolivia, imposed his hands upon Friar Jonathan Cristian FUNES LUJÁN and ordained him to the diaconate. The ordination took place at the Parish of Nuestra Señora del Carmen y San Maximiliano Kolbe in Quintanilla, Cochabamba, Bolivia. Friar Jonathan is originally from Tupiza, Bolivia. Those attending the ordination Mass included friars from the Conventual presences in Montero, Santa Cruz, Sucre and Alalay (Bolivia). After the ordination, all of the participants spent some joyful fraternal time together.
On October 4, 2019, the Solemnity of St. Francis of Assisi, Friar Limber OLIBERA made his solemn profession, thus definitively consecrating himself to God. The Provincial Custos, Friar Carlos Antonio CATALÁN MELGAR, received his vows. The ceremony took place at the Parish of Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes in Montero, Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Friar Limber is originally from Montero. The event was attended by the friars of the Custody, the postulants and the relatives of Friar Limber. After the profession, the participants spent some celebratory time together.
