On November 9, 2024, the friars of the Provincial Custody of the Immaculate Conception of the B.V.M. in Brazil went on a pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Aparecida, in the city of Aparecida do Norte, Brazil.
Those participating in the pilgrimage included the friars and parishioners from the different parishes that the friars serve. Everyone came with joy to offer thanks for the maternal intercession of Mary.
The event started with Mass at 6:00 a.m., presided over by Father Ferdinando MANCÍLIO C.Ss.R. (Redemptorists). The Provincial Custos, Friar Carlos Roberto de Oliveira CHARLES, and the other friars of the Custody, concelebrated. After the Mass, the friars and parishioners walked towards the Old Basilica of Our Lady of Aparecida reciting the prayer of the Franciscan Crown. Arriving at the Old Basilica, Friar Fábio SOARES DA SILVA prayed the consecration prayer to Our Lady of Aparecida and, together with the other friars, imparted the blessing of St. Francis upon all the parishioners.
