On Saturday, February 10, 2024, some friars of the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Brazil professed their simple vows. The professions were celebrated at the Jardim da Imaculada Shrine Church in Cidade Ocidental, Goiás State, Brazil.
Those who made their simple profession were Friars Francisco BRUNO DE SOUSA; Breno BARROS DOS ANJOS; Naum Gabriel GOMES DA SILVA; Alyson RABELO ARAÚJO; and Andrey Ferreira MARQUES CAVALCANTE.
The Mass was presided over by the Minister Provincial, Friar Brother Gilberto DE JESUS RODRIGUES, and was attended by many friars living in and around the capital city of Brasilia.
We congratulate our professed for their commitment and for declaring their “yes.” We pray to God Most High that they may persevere and be faithful to the Order’s mission.
The theme chosen for this profession event was taken from a passage in the Later Rule: “Let them [the friars] pay attention to what they must desire above all else: to have the Spirit of the Lord and Its holy activity…” (Later Rule 10: 8 FF 104).
