A new book by Friar Zdzisław Józef KIJAS, “The Ecologist’s Breviary” (Turin: Effatà Press, 2019, 256 p.) will be presented at the “More Books, More Freedom” Small and Medium Publishing Fair. The Fair will be held on December 5, 2019, at “La Nuvola dell’EUR” Convention Center in Rome.

This text testifies to the Church’s profound and always lively sensitivity to the beauty of Creation and affirms our responsibility towards it. It also gives proof that Franciscans are ever attentive to the values of ecology.
The Breviary contains religious and secular texts from popes, monks, poets, naturalists and ancient and contemporary writers. The book is not so much about nature, as it is about letting nature speak for itself, pointing out its beauty, its intrinsic harmony and its need for human beings.
In the book’s preface, His Eminence, Peter K. A. Cardinal TURKSON, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Human Development, writes: “I am particularly pleased to present this volume to people of good will who wish to praise the Creator together with all His creatures”.
