From September 19-23, 2022, Friar Jude WINKLER presented a workshop on the Gospels and the Psalms to the novices of the Conventual Franciscan Federation (CFF) at the St. Francis Friary in Arroyo Grande, California, USA.
This year there are seven novices: three from the Province of Our Lady of Consolation in the USA; two from the Province of St. Bonaventure in the USA; and two from the Province of Our Lady of the Angels in the USA. The novice director is Friar Joseph WOOD and his assistant is Friar Marek STYBOR. On September 20, there was a joint meeting of the Conventual novices and the Capuchin novices (whose national novitiate is in St. Ynez, California, about one and a half hours away). The topic of this day of study was the Gospel of Matthew—the Gospel that will be used in the liturgy this coming year.
