On July 1-3, 2019, the friars of the Delegation of Chile met in Copiapó to reflect together on the future of the Delegation.

On morning of the first day, the friars spent a celebratory moment giving thanks for what they had experienced in recent days and years, recognizing God’s presence and providence at each stage in the life of the Delegation and noting the intercession of our Seraphic Father St. Francis and St. Anthony of Padua, the patron saint of the Province.
Then the friars took a moment to share some personal reflections and to discuss their experiences in community.
On the second day, the friars worked on the mandate of the last Provincial Chapter, namely, redesigning our presence and reforming and reorganizing our structure. This was accompanied by some worries, pain and sadness. Finally, the friars reflected on the current status of the Delegation and its future, and will send the results to the Province so that it can make better decisions at some point.
After experiencing the rare event of the solar eclipse and welcoming Friar Andrés TOSI, who will stay with us for two months, the friars discussed the activities that had been carried out in recent months, and talked about what Friars Maurizio BRIDIO and Tullio PASTORELLI experienced during the Ordinary Chapter.
Earlier, on June 29-30, 2019, Friars Emilian DUMEA, Christian BORGHESI, Fabio MASSINI and Irinel DOBOS participated in the formation meeting for Franciscan youth ministry animators. The meeting was held at the Los Cañas retirement home in Santiago, Chile, a property of the Salesian Brothers.
