On August 4, 2024, the “Rioplatense” Province of St. Anthony of Padua in Argentina-Uruguay, and the Provincial Delegation in Chile of the Italian Province of St. Anthony of Padua (Northern Italy), inaugurated a new year of their common postulancy program. The ceremony took place at the Beato Carlos de Dios Murias Formation House in Curicó, Chile, during Evening Prayer for Sunday of the 18th Week in Ordinary Time. The Provincial Delegate, Friar Fabrizio RESTANTE, presided.

After the short reading and a Franciscan reading from the First Life of St. Francis by Thomas of Celano (23-24), Friar Fabrizio gave a brief refection on the importance of this stage of discernment of following Jesus according to the example of St. Francis of Assisi. The postulants were each given a tau cross and a book of the writings of St. Francis of Assisi. The new postulants are: Antonio José HERNÁNDEZ LARECA, age thirty-seven, from Venezuela (Delegation in Chile); Mauricio RODRIGUEZ NUÑEZ, age twenty-seven, from Uruguay (Rioplatense Province); and Yoel Daniel BAJINAY, age nineteen, from Argentina (Rioplatense Province).
Others attending the ceremony included some confreres from the Delegation in Chile and Friar Mario Darío CORREA, a formator and the Vicar Provincial of the Rioplatense Province.
Let us pray that these young men may persevere in the journey they have begun.
