On November 25-27, 2024, the Custody of St. Francis of Assisi in Colombia held its annual Custodial Assembly at the San Antonio de Padua Friary in Bogota, D.C., Columbia.

All of the solemnly professed friars of the Custody participated. In addition, the event was graced with the presence of Friar Vincenzo COSATTI, Rector of the Vatican Penitentiary, where Friar Javier Antonio RONDÓN RONDÓN served as confessor until he was called to the House of the Father, on August 9, 2024.
The Assembly began in an atmosphere of fraternal prayer. The friars prayed the Office of the Dead and remembered, in a special way, their departed confreres, namely, Friars Jesús Tiberio LONDOÑO OQUENDO, Antonino JARABO MUÑOZ and Javier A. RONDÓN. In the afternoon, a special prayer was said during Mass for all the deceased friars of the Custody.
The Assembly was an opportunity for different groups to deeply reflect upon, and assess, fraternal life, as it is lived personally and in community. The friars also discussed the pastoral, formative and administrative direction of the Custody, evaluating the path it has taken thus far and envisioning the future of the Order’s presence in Colombia. The Assembly was an event full of significant moments; everyone was invited to persevere in building fraternity, rooted in the charism and the current reality of the Friars Minor Conventual.
