On Monday morning, April 14, 2025, a meeting of the Conference of the Franciscan Family took place at the General Curia of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual, located at the Friary of the Twelve Holy Apostles in Rome. Later that afternoon, a meeting of the Conference of the Ministers General of the First Order and TOR (Third Order Regular) was held at the same location.

The members at the meeting of the Conference of the Franciscan Family were Friar Carlos A. TROVARELLI, OFM Conv.; Friar Massimo FUSARELLI, OFM; Friar Roberto GENUIN, OFM Cap.; Friar Amando TRUJILLO CANO, TOR; Tibor KAUSER, OFS; and Sister Francés Marie DUNCAN, OSF, President of the International Franciscan Conference of the Brothers and Sisters of the Third Order Regular (who participated online). The meeting began at 10:00 a.m. and was conducted in the “Definitory Hall.” The friars discussed the meeting held January 11, 2025, in Assisi, on the occasion of the opening of the Centenary of St. Francis composing the Canticle of the Creatures. They also read a report sent by the Franciscan Family Committee for the Franciscan Centenary, and talked about a proposal to commission a musical composition for organ to commemorate St. Francis composing the Canticle of the Creatures. This meeting ended at 12:45 p.m.
After a meal in the refectory of the friary, the Conference of Ministers General of the First Order and TOR conducted its meeting. The members discussed several topics including a request for a pastoral visit to the Presidency of the International Council of the Secular Franciscan Order (CIOFS). They also heard an update about the program of the 2025 Missionary Course in Africa (Uganda) and about the program of the Online Evangelization Course for Europe. In addition, they discussed and worked on a joint letter to the Poor Clares on the occasion of the 8th Centenary of St. Francis composing Audite poverelle (the Canticle of Exhortation for the Poor Ladies of San Damiano) and they drafted a joint letter on integral ecology.

The Ministers General said goodbye and departed at 3:30 p.m., satisfied with the work they did to serve God and their brothers and sisters.
