On Wednesday, February 24, 2021, a Mass was celebrated at the Friary of St. Peter in Ganghwa, South Korea, to send forth a new missionary to Burkina Faso.

The Minister Provincial of the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in South Korea, Friar Marco Jin Chol JEONG, presided over the liturgy and gave the mandate to Friar Peter Jae-hee SHIN, to collaborate with the missionaries in Burkina Faso.
In his homily, Friar Marco stated that we must hope and pray for Friar Peter, that he may capably carry out his missionary commitments, according to the teaching of our father St. Francis of Assisi, who was full of enthusiasm for the mission.
Friar Peter (35) entered the Order in 2011. He made simple profession on June 28, 2014, his solemn profession on February 9, 2018, and was ordained to the priesthood on December 19, 2019. After his priestly ordination, he lived and worked in Incheon, South Korea, as an associate pastor.
“May the Lord bless you and keep you! May the Lord let his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you! May the Lord turn his face to you and give you peace!” Amen.
