On January 7, 2021, Friar Denis Yooseok OH of the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in South Korea, was ordained to the diaconate by the imposition of hands of the Most Reverend John Baptist Jung SHIN-CHUL, Bishop of Incheon, South Korea.
Due to the pandemic, the celebration took place at the Church of the Catholic University of Incheon. Only thirteen ordination candidates (10 diocesan and 3 religious), accompanied by their pastors or superiors, were able to attend. The ordination was broadcast online through YouTube (https://youtu.be/wFHfty83cNA). The families of the new deacons were able to watch the broadcast from another lecture room in the university. Despite the many challenges, we thank God for giving us a new deacon.
Friar Denis was born in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, on March 29, 1993; he made his simple profession on February 10, 2017 and his solemn profession on February 11, 2020. We wish our confrere a fruitful diaconal ministry and we shall be praying for him.
