On the afternoon of Saturday, March 10, 2018, the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej DUDA, crossed over the threshold and entered the monastery of the Poor Clares located on Grodzka Street in Cracow.

His visit was a pleasant surprise and a great honor for the sisters. It was something they hoped would happen, but had not planned on.
This unusual meeting took place during this year’s jubilee celebrating the 750th anniversary of the death of Blessed Salomea. Currently, the Poor Clare community has been offering special prayers for the country through the “Novena of the Months” which invokes the intercession of our Blessed.
The President’s visit provided an opportunity for conversing, asking questions, taking pictures, and above all, praying for the country in front of the relics of Blessed Salomea. She became Poland’s first Poor Clare during the time of the Piast dynasty.
