On February 2-4, 2018, the Minister General, Friar Marco TASCA, visited our friars’ community in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Current members of the community include Friar Tomislav CVETKO from the Province of St. Jerome in Croatia and Friar Tomaž MAJCEN from the Province of St. Joseph in Slovenia. The two confreres were very happy and grateful for the Minister General’s visit. This was his first visit to the two confreres in Copenhagen. They have been there for a year.
On February 3, 2018, the Minister General met with the Most Reverend Czesław KOZON, Bishop of Copenhagen, Denmark. During lunch and after the meeting with the Bishop, the friars discussed the Conventual Franciscan presence in Demark. The Minister General mentioned the possibility of a third friar arriving, perhaps from the Custody of the Philippines. Even the Bishop was pleased with this possibility, because it would mean improved ministry for the many Filipino immigrants in the area.
In the time that remained, the Minister General and the two confreres visited the two parishes (Jesu Hjerte Kirke and Sakramentskirke) which the Bishop entrusted to the pastoral care of our friars.
On Sunday, February 4, the Minister General concelebrated at a Mass in Danish presided over by Friar Tomaž MAJCEN at the Church of the Most Holy Sacrament (Sakramentskirke).
