On the morning of Saturday, August 30, 2025, Deacon Friar Peter George FLYNN, OFM Conv., was ordained to the priesthood. The ordination took place at the Conventual Franciscan Parish Church of Our Lady of the Visitation in Dublin, Ireland. Friar Peter George is a member of the Provincial Custody of Bl. Agnellus of Pisa in Great Britain-Ireland (BAP).

The ordaining bishop was the Most Reverend Paul DEMPSEY, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Dublin. He delivered a moving homily which focused on Our Lord’s words taken from the Gospel passage selected for the occasion: “You did not choose me, no, I chose you” (Jn. 15:16). Bishop DEMPSEY emphasized how Christ is at the heart of the priesthood, and it is only by being sustained by Our Lord’s strength and grace that any priest can do what he has been called to do.
At the end of the Mass, kneeling before Our Lady’s side altar, Friar Peter George consecrated his priesthood to the Blessed Virgin, presenting the Mother of God with a bouquet of flowers.
“It was a wonderful day for the Blessed Angelus of Pisa Custody,” said the Minister Provincial of the Mother Province of Our Lady of the Angels in the USA, Friar Michael HEINE, OFM Conv. “The smile on Friar Peter George’s face and the proud look of his family brought joy to the entire Church!”
After the Ordination Mass, there was a wonderful lunch put on in the parish hall with a cake presented to Friar Peter George, which he cut to the sound of applause. A beautiful day was had by all. Please keep Friar Peter George and the friars of the BAP Custody in your prayers.
