On November 6-8, 2018, the Conventual Franciscan Federation (CFF) held its mid-year Assembly at the St. Bonaventure friary in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
Among the topics being discussed was the preparation for the Ordinary General Chapter scheduled for May of 2019. Next they discussed problems regarding initial and ongoing formation, the designation of the heads of the various commissions and organizations (e.g. Formation, OFS, M.I., and GPIC).
Friar John Ronald HEINZ (Province of St. Joseph of Cupertino in the USA) began his service as Secretary of the Federation.
Friar Victor ABEGG (of the same Province), Friar David BLOWEY (Delegate to the Provincial Delegation in Australia) and Friar Jobe ABBASS (future Delegate to the Provincial Delegation in Canada) participated for the first time.
The meeting ended with a visit to Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium.
The CFF Federation includes the Jurisdictions from Australia, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland and the U.S.A.
