On June 25-28, 2018, the friars of the Province of St. Bonaventure in the USA (including friars from the Provincial Delegation of Our Lady Help of Christians in Australia) met at the Techny Towers Retreat Center in Northbrook, Illinois, USA, for the second part of their Ordinary Provincial Chapter.

The Chapter was celebrated with the universal presence of the friars of the Province.
After discussing the Province Four-Year Plan, the friars decided to establish a strategic Plan Commission which will meet over the next two years to collect information on the apostolates of the Province, on financial plans and the possibility of inter-Province collaboration among the Conventual Franciscan Provinces of the United States as well as other Jurisdictions in the Order. The friars will then meet in Extraordinary Chapter in 2020 to finalize the plan for the coming years.
The friars of the Chapter approved the Federation Directory of Initial Formation. All four Provinces have now approved this document.
The Capitulars voted to establish a friary in the upper floors of the house on Kenmore Avenue in Chicago (to allow some autonomy for the Provincialate community).
Many of the friars present for the Chapter stayed on in the Chicago area to attend funeral rites for Friar Francis McGANN which were held Friday evening, June 29, and Saturday morning, June 30, at the friary in Marytown.
