From January 31 to February 2, 2024, the Provincial Custody of the Immaculate Conception and Bl. Bonaventure of Potenza in the Philippines celebrated an Extraordinary Custodial Chapter on its Custodial Statutes.
The event took place at the St. Joseph Spirituality Center in Tagaytay City. Only four days before the Chapter started, the friars had met at the same spirituality center to celebrate their annual spiritual retreat. The retreat was led by the General Delegate for Justice Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC), Friar Michael LASKY.
Thirty-three Capitulars attended the Chapter. During the event, Friar Angelo PALUMBO served as the Delegate of the Minister Provincial of the Mother Province of Naples, Friar Cosimo ANTONINO. A Definitor from the Province of Naples, Friar Claudio IORIS, was present as an auditor. The Chapter was divided into four sessions. In the first session, the Delegate, Friar Angelo PALUMBO, read a message from the Minister Provincial, and the Minister General, Friar Carlos TROVARELLI, sent a video message.
The second and third sessions consisted of presentations, discussions, final revisions, and voting on parts of the Instrumentum laboris. The Chapter closed with a fourth session that commemorated some recently deceased friars at the General and Provincial level, namely, Friars Joachim GIERMEK; Francescantonio NOLÈ; Michele ALFANO; Giovanni RICCIARDI; Bernardino FIORE; and Raffaele RICCIARDI.
